RATIONALE
South Sudan’s crisis has precipitated displacement of families and communities within the country as IDP’s and refugees in neighbouring countries. They are not able to take the items they need. Those affected and especially children, mothers, the aged, sick and persons living with disabilities and the communities hosting them require support to cope with the adversities.
STRATEGIC OBJECTIVES
- To ensure that there are logistics and systems for delivery of items to those in need and maintain an audit trail so as to report accurately.
- To monitor disaster situations and have staff and systems in place to participate with other actors and respond appropriately and promptly.
- To have in place mechanisms to anticipate and monitor the occurrence of disaster and inform other actors and mobilize resources needed to intervene.
- To support those affected by disasters to cope and facilitate them to settle in camps and within communities and facilitate them to cope and mitigate against adverse effects.
